    Description

    Opportunity:

    Physician - Anesthesiology - Cardiac


    Job Details:

    • Cover open heart, thoracic, vascular, and structural heart cases

    • Assist with general OR cases as needed in addition to cardiac cases

    • Provide unrestricted overnight call and weekend call coverage

    • Monday through Friday shifts are 8-10 hour days

    • Treat adult and geriatric patients only; no pediatric care required

    • Cases are hands-on with occasional CRNA supervision

    • Facility performs approximately 360-450 cardiac cases per year

    • TEE certification is required

    • Cardiac anesthesiology fellowship required; if not fellowship trained, minimum five years of documented CV anesthesia experience required with letters of recommendation from both anesthesiologists and CV surgeons

    • Must have achieved at least testamur status in Advanced Perioperative Echocardiography (NBE)

    • Board certification in general anesthesia is required

    • Nebraska license highly preferred or IMLC accepted

    • Clean malpractice and background history highly preferred


    Facility:

    This facility is a 187-bed Level 1 Trauma and Academic Medical Center equipped with 15 main operating rooms, 3 endoscopy suites, 2 EP labs, TEE and invasive/non-invasive cardiology capabilities, Neuro IR, bronchoscopy, MRI lines, and obstetrics services. The facility supports a robust cardiovascular surgical program staffed by two cardiac surgeons and utilizes EPIC as its electronic medical records system.
