Job Details:
- Emergency Medicine physician needed for ongoing full-time positions
- ABEM board certification preferred; exceptions made for strong, experienced providers
- Shift times available: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- No call coverage required
- One Emergency Medicine physician on staff per shift
- Average patient census of 55-60 patients daily, approximately 2 patients per hour with occasional larger patient volumes
- Most common cases include medical complaints such as chest pain, abdominal pain, and shortness of breath, as well as basic trauma including falls, motor vehicle collisions, and sports injuries
- Rarely involves severe or penetrating trauma cases
- Required procedures include ED procedures such as intubation, procedural sedation, fracture reduction/splinting, chest tube placement, CPR, suture repair, incision and drainage, and central line placement
- Orientation consists of 2 shadow shifts
- 4 total positions available
