Matrix Providers is hiring a Physician - Gastroenterologist to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families in Kileen TX, Ft. Hood
Employment Status: Full Time
Compensation: This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly . $170-190/hr
Schedule: Schedules can be scheduled by the government for 8, 10, and 12 hour shifts. On occasion when necessary for patient care, may be required to work a 16 hr shift. This will require 1- 2 weekends/mo.
Schedule does require On Call. Provider is not required to remain at a place of residence while on call, but shall be available by government furnished beeper, pager, cell phone, or a personal
cell phone during on-call periods. Provider may be called in if necessary.
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen
Requirements: The Physicianmust have and meet the following:
Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).
Education: Graduation from a medical school in the United States, Canada, or
approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education of the American Medical
Association (AMA), graduation from a college of osteopathy approved by the
American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or graduation from a medical school with
evidence of Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG)
certification
Certification: Board Certified in Gastroenterology. DoD only recognizes certifications issued by boards that are members of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the AOA Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists., American Board of Internal Medicine (ADIM).
Internship/Residency: Internship/Residency/Fellowship. Completion of an accredited residency approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
Experience: Shall possess a minimum of three (3) years of post-residency clinical experience within the last four (4) years providing direct patient care in gastroenterology. Experience must demonstrate recent hands-on proficiency in evaluating, diagnosing, and managing full range of gastrointestinal disorders in accordance with current clinical standards of practice. Background shall reflect competency in performing and interpreting GI diagnostic procedures, developing treatment plans, and coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams.
Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine.
Job Summary:
Perform a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges
granted by the MTF.
Direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of other health care professionals
within the scope of the clinical privileges or responsibilities.
Examine, diagnose, treat or prescribe courses of treatment within the scope of
training, experience, and privileges.
Provide preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals,
positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling.
Order diagnostic tests as applicable as well as request consultation or referral
with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.
Facilitates patient access to continuing medical care by appropriate specialty
referrals, appointments, consultations, procedures to schedules and complete delivery of
services and/or to other healthcare providers operating within the policies and regulations
of the MTF access to care timelines.
Technically proficient in directing and teaching other medical staff, providing
educational lectures and participating in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff
members. Such direction and interaction will adhere to Government and professional
clinical standards and accepted clinical protocols.
Provide high quality standards of care as mandated by the Joint Commission
and as structured by appropriate DHA, CRDAMC MTF, and local regulations and
policies.
May participate in continue medical education programs, in-service training,
and informal training, on a space available basis only, as identified in the base contract
PWS Part 1.5.45.6.
May attend periodic meetings and training sessions that are non-contractual
or include exclusive government business discussions that may include, but not limited
to, morning/evening reports, huddles, grand rounds, group training, patient scheduling
and coordination, and/or professional in-house staff conferences/meetings and other
professional activities as determined by the department chief that correlate to patient care
services performed only. All meetings, forums, training, etc. will be held during
scheduled work hours.
Contract workers shall not attend meetings with topics discussing
government business, policy and regulation making, contract matters, new or existing
requirements, new programs, or any other means considered inherently government
business or duties. When in attendance of meetings and training sessions, contract
workers must be excused from such meetings when the topics change to inherently
government business or duties.
Hospital Credentials Committee determines practice limits and privileges.
Shall ensure all clinical encounters are documented accurately and
completely in the electronic health record (EHR) no later 48 hours past the day of service
or as determined by the government.
Work shall be reviewed through established professional reviews to include,
but not limited to, random case review for quality assurance, risk management, and
similar procedures.
Shall be responsible for maintaining and updating their own Competency
Assessment Folder (CAF) as required annually or when identified by the government.
