Physician - Gastroenterology

Job Details:

• Provide urgent gastroenterology coverage including 24-hour call shifts running 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM
• 
  
• Coverage is for 365 days a year with 7-day stints preferred for ongoing 2027 dates
• 
  
• Inpatient setting at a Level 1 Trauma facility
• 
  
• Required procedures include scoping, ERCP, EUS, endoscopy, GI bleed management, and evaluation of GI problems
• 
  
• Must be able to perform ERCP and EUS to be considered
• 
  
• Patient population includes adult, geriatric, and adolescent patients
• 
  
• Typical daily volume includes 8-10 new patient admissions and follow-ups, plus 5-8 scopes per day
• 
  
• GI functions as a consult service only and does not admit patients
• 
  
• 24/7 intensivists, hospitalists, and trauma services available on site
• 
  
• EMR system is EPIC; prior EPIC experience required with mandatory virtual training to be completed prior to first day
• 
  
• Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Gastroenterology Fellowship required
• 
  
• Active DEA required for credentialing
• 
  
• Active CO license highly preferred
• 
  
• On-call and weekend availability required
• 
  
• Clean malpractice and background history highly preferred

This facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center offering a comprehensive range of inpatient and specialty services to the surrounding community. The facility operates around the clock with 24/7 intensivists, hospitalists, and trauma services on site, ensuring a high level of patient care and support for locum providers. The gastroenterology team serves a diverse patient population and utilizes EPIC as its electronic medical records system.
