Opportunity:

Physician - Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology

Job Details:

• Shift hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in endoscopy, with an unpaid one-hour lunch break
• 
  
• Upper endoscopy procedures are approximately 30 minutes and colonoscopy procedures are approximately 30 minutes, with combined procedures lasting approximately 60 minutes
• 
  
• Most cases are performed with moderate sedation administered by the physician and nurse without anesthesia support, though occasional anesthesiology support may be available
• 
  
• Providers must be comfortable administering moderate sedation independently
• 
  
• Board certification is required
• 
  
• ACLS and BLS certifications are required
• 
  
• Required procedural skills include upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, and fulguration of bleeder; small bowel biopsy; lower GI endoscopy; flexible and rigid sigmoidoscopy; and colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp excision
• 
  
• Esophageal dilatation/manometry and esophageal manometry interpretation are preferred skills
• 
  
• Gastroenterology fellowship training is required
• 
  
• Position is locum tenens with an ongoing need
