Physician - Gastroenterology

Job Details:

• Gastroenterology coverage needed for a 12-month assignment
• 
  
• EMR system: Meditech
• 
  
• Client is open to two providers alternating weeks but strongly prefers one consistent provider
• 
  
• Virtual interviews with service line leadership and OR team
• 
  
• APP support provided
• 
  
• Clinic hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
• 
  
• Call structure: Shared with other provider, offsite call with 30-minute response time for emergency consultations and 12 hours for routine calls
• 
  
• After-hours call frequency: 1-2 times per week, most commonly for active bleeds
• 
  
• Average procedures per day: 12-14
• 
  
• General GI procedures include Upper Endoscopies (EGD) and Colonoscopies
• 
  
• Advanced procedures include ERCP (mid-level/moderate complexity); EUS and EMR not required
• 
  
• Specialty procedures include esophageal, duodenal, or luminal stent placement; argon plasma coagulation; biopsies of the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, and colon; colonoscopy with or without polypectomy; diagnostic and therapeutic EGD; enteral alimentation; esophageal dilation; foreign body removal via EGD; flexible sigmoidoscopy; GI motility studies and 24-hour pH monitoring; non-variceal hemostasis (upper and lower); and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG)

• Patient population is non-compliant and complex, often accompanied by family members at appointments

• Providers with strong relationship-building and communication skills are highly preferred

The gastroenterology department is well-equipped to handle both routine and advanced endoscopic procedures, supported by a dedicated team of APP staff and service line leadership.
