Physician - Hematology/Oncology

Job Details:

• Provide hematology and oncology services at clinic locations in Chambersburg and Waynesboro
• 
  
• Clinic hours Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• 
  
• Average 15 patients per day with approximately 2 new patients daily
• 
  
• Adult patient population only - no pediatric cases
• 
  
• Patient mix: 2/3 oncology cases, 1/3 hematology cases
• 
  
• Appointment scheduling: 20 minutes for pre-treatment and follow-ups, 40 minutes for new hematology consults, 60 minutes for new oncology consults
• 
  
• Provide inpatient and emergency room consultation for hematology/oncology guidance
• 
  
• Call schedule includes 1 week per month rotation with 0-2 calls per day
• 
  
• Weekend coverage and night call required
• 
  
• Supervise morning and afternoon coverage for urgent patient needs weekly
• 
  
• Typical cases include lung, breast, prostate, colorectal cancers and blood disorders
• 
  
• Coordinate with radiation oncology services with navigator assistance
• 
  
• Participate in tumor board meetings
• 
  
• Work with infusion center providing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, IVIG, IV iron treatments
• 
  
• Fellowship training required, board certification preferred
• 
  
• Contract approved through March 31, 2027

The cancer program provides a full range of oncology and hematology services with support from experienced nursing staff, nurse practitioners, and virtual hematology specialists. The facility maintains modern treatment capabilities and coordinates care across multiple hospital locations.
