Job Details:
- Locum Hematologist Oncologist coverage needed from approximately October 1, 2025 through December 31, 2026 for an FMLA gap with no extension needed
- Outpatient clinic schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with after-hours call as part of a shared call pool
- Call schedule runs 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM with APP support available
- Practice setting includes inpatient consult service, outpatient clinic, and infusion center attached to the hospital
- Call ratio of 1 in 5 with 5 inpatient APPs covering 2 hospitals and 6 outpatient APPs
- Patient population includes adult and geriatric patients
- Position is focused nearly entirely on hematology, approximately 90% hematology and 10% solid tumor
- Covers both malignant and benign hematology; benign heme patients outnumber malignant heme patients
- Community practice setting seeing a typical variety of malignant heme patients; no BMT or advanced academic center treatments performed
- Average of 10-15 patients per day for hospital rounding/call and 15 patients per day in the outpatient clinic
- 6 physicians in the practice with Radiation Oncologists present during locum tenens coverage
- EMR system is Epic
- Required procedures include FNA/Biopsy
- Required duties include participation on a Tumor Board, ordering tests and images, and prescribing
- Board Certification required; active Michigan license strongly preferred
- BLS certification required
