Physician (MD) - Internal Medicine - Hematology and Oncology

Job Details:

• Seeking two full-time, long-term locums physicians
• 
  
• Monday through Friday office hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• 
  
• Possible travel two days per week to outlying office in Somerset for office hours (30 minutes from main campus)
• 
  
• Complete daily hospital rounds and consults during assigned weeks
• 
  
• Hospital rounds and consults on Saturday and Sunday during assigned weekends (4 hours per day of onsite work)
• 
  
• Oversee advanced practice providers (APPs)
• 
  
• Handle after-hours call for clinic critical values or urgent patient matters (no need to return in person)
• 
  
• Consulting service only - no hospital admissions required
• 
  
• See 12-15 patients per shift
• 
  
• Work with comprehensive support staff including infusion nurses, navigators, and medical office assistants
• 
  
• Participate in tumor boards and collaborate with radiation oncology services
• 
  
• Board certified or board eligible Hematologist/Oncologist required
• 
  
• Active PA license or IMLC with letter of qualification required
• 
  
• Must complete Pennsylvania mandated training requirements
• 
  
• Locums-to-permanent candidates highly favored

This comprehensive medical center features a modern hematology/oncology practice that recently relocated to a state-of-the-art building housing multiple medical specialties and services. The facility offers the full spectrum of cancer care with advanced treatment options including a nurse navigator program, multiple tumor boards, and nearby radiation oncology services. The practice is well-staffed with dedicated infusion nurses managing 16 treatment chairs, specialized navigators, and experienced support staff to ensure optimal patient care and workflow efficiency.
