Physician - Internal Medicine - Hematology and Oncology

Job Details:

• Clinic hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with potential for a half day off during the week
• 
  
• Preferred availability of 4 weeks per month; minimum of 2 weeks of availability required to be considered
• 
  
• Primarily medical oncology and hematology patients
• 
  
• Average patient census per clinic shift is 15-23 patients; 18-25 patient encounters per shift
• 
  
• Duties include consults, follow-ups, and possible bone marrow procedures
• 
  
• Hematology/Oncology split is approximately 40% hematology and 60% medical oncology
• 
  
• No acute leukemia or malignant hematology cases
• 
  
• Call type is beeper-based with some consultation; hospital on-call on weekends only and some weekday evenings call is very light
• 
  
• Night call patient census is 1-2 patients
• 
  
• New patients are admitted by hospitalists
• 
  
• Board certification required; ACLS, ATLS, and BLS certifications required
• 
  
• Fellowship training required
• 
  
• Trauma Level 2 facility

This cancer center is home to some of the most advanced cancer technology and treatments available in the region. The facility offers daVinci robotic-assisted surgery, a state-of-the-art linear accelerator providing IMRT stereotactic radiation treatment and 3D radiotherapy, PET/CT scans, prostate cancer treatment with SpaceOAR Hydrogel, and the region's only automated breast ultrasound (ABUS). The center is staffed by two full-time physicians and two full-time advanced practice providers, creating a collaborative and well-supported clinical environment.
