Physician - Internal Medicine - Hematology and Oncology

Job Details:

• Full-time locum tenens Hematology/Oncology coverage (not just Medical Oncology) needed as soon as possible on an ongoing basis
• 
  
• Will consider providers willing to cover 2-3 weeks per month; two locums pairing to share coverage is also an option
• 
  
• Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a one-hour lunch; overtime applies after a 9-hour day
• 
  
• Team includes 3 MDs and 3 APPs with support from RN/MA staff, navigators, and infusion RNs
• 
  
• Radiation oncology services available on-site
• 
  
• Bone marrow biopsies are required
• 
  
• 1:4 weekly hospital call rotation running Friday 7:30 AM to the following Friday 7:30 AM; rounding 1-2 hours each day Monday through Sunday with additional weekday afternoon rounding from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
• 
  
• Inpatient responsibilities include covering acute leukemic patients and inpatient chemotherapy patients; phone calls required but rarely called in
• 
  
• Clinic weekday call is shared and includes taking add-on consults and supervising chemotherapy patients for absent providers
• 
  
• Each provider supervises their own patients in the Chemo Clinic
• 
  
• Documentation required for post-Autologous Stem Cell Transplant and post-CAR-T Cell Therapy patients
• 
  
• Approximately 15 patient encounters per shift
• 
  
• Board certification required (minimum Board Certification Eligible); ACLS, ATLS, and BLS certifications required
• 
  
• Provider must utilize real-time Mobile Time Clock, preferably GPS-based, for time tracking

This is a well-established regional medical center serving a broad patient population across central Wisconsin. The facility is a Level 2 trauma center with a Level 3 pediatric designation, offering a comprehensive range of specialty and subspecialty services. The Hematology and Oncology department is supported by a multidisciplinary team and is equipped with radiation oncology services and advanced treatment capabilities, providing a collaborative and resource-rich environment for providers.
