Physician - Hematology/Oncology

Job Details:

• Outpatient clinic/private practice setting with shifts Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with no call required
• 
  
• Preferred schedule of 3 days per week; client is open to 2 providers working alternating shifts, either 1 or 2 weeks on/off
• 
  
• 12-month contract preferred
• 
  
• Approximately 15 patients per day in a low-volume, solo provider setting
• 
  
• Department mix is approximately 60% hematology and 40% solid tumor
• 
  
• New to follow-up patient ratio is approximately 20% new patients and 80% follow-ups
• 
  
• High-acuity cases such as acute leukemias are typically referred to tertiary centers
• 
  
• Standard medical oncology infusion supervision model with no unique or additional supervision requirements beyond typical practice standards
• 
  
• One APP on-site daily to assist with follow-ups, supportive care visits, documentation, and orders in collaboration with the physician
• 
  
• Dedicated oncology-trained RNs support infusion services during clinic hours
• 
  
• Provider will participate in tumor board
• 
  
• EMR system: Meditech
• 
  
• Board Certification in hematology or medical oncology required
• 
  
• Must have recent patient-facing experience

This is a community-based hospital serving the Appalachian region of Kentucky, offering a range of inpatient and outpatient services including oncology and hematology care. The facility is part of a larger regional health system with additional physician support at a nearby location, providing a collaborative and well-supported clinical environment. The outpatient oncology practice operates with dedicated APP and nursing staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
