Opportunity:
Physician - Hematology Oncology
Job Details:
Locum Hematology/Oncology physician coverage needed for a 3-month maternity leave from September through December 2026
Practice setting includes 4 days of outpatient coverage with a 1:3 call ratio
Outpatient schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Call schedule: Evening coverage every night on a 1:3 rotation with weekend call from Friday 4:00 PM through Monday 7:00 AM
Patient population includes Adult, Geriatric, and OB patients
Practice breakdown is approximately 60% Hematology and 40% Oncology
Average of 15-16 patients per day in the outpatient setting and approximately 1-5 patients per day for hospital call/rounding
Clinical areas include outpatient and inpatient Oncology and Hematology settings
Radiation Oncologists will be present during locum coverage
2 APPs provide coverage support
Chemotherapy administration handled by nurse oncologist
Documentation via EPIC EMR
Trauma Level 2 designated hospital
Required duties include participation on a Tumor Board, ordering tests, ordering images, and prescribing
Board Certification required
Active Connecticut license required at time of submission
BLS certification required
Provider must be local; only mileage is reimbursed
