About the Position

• This is a non-state service, time-limited position.* The Physician II (Regional Health Officer - Central) leader in a public health department is crucial for protecting and enhancing community health. This leadership role is comprised of three pillars: 1) clinical expertise, 2) public health knowledge, and 3) administrative acumen. Physician II duties are diverse and vital to the success of the health departments. Physician must understand the communitys health needs, identify potential threats and available resources, and develop and execute a strategic plan that addresses immediate health concerns and long-term health objectives.

Execute and assess public health programs and policies. Identify community health necessities using data and investigation and formulate approaches to address them. Keep up to date with current public health developments, studies, and established practices to guarantee that the departments actions are grounded in evidence and effective. Collaborate with government bodies, healthcare entities, and community groups to develop comprehensive and inclusive public health programs

Paid Personal Leave and Sick Leave

Full-time employees receive paid time off for personal needs and for sick leave. Leave begins accruing after one month of employment and may be used as it is accrued. Employees earn approximately 18 days of personal leave annually and 12 days of sick leave annually.

In accordance with federal law, all employees serving in the armed forces or the military reserves are entitled to 15 days per year for military training.
