Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiologist
Our organization is actively seeking a full-time Interventional Radiologist to join our team. We are a 467-bed healthcare facility spread across three campuses in the Boston metropolitan area. Our radiology department operates without film and offers tele-radiology services to several other facilities within the VA New England Healthcare System. Our advanced equipment includes:
- 1.5T and two 3T MRI scanners
- Four multidetector CT scanners
- PET/CT
- A comprehensive range of ultrasound and radiology/fluoroscopy equipment
- A dedicated women's imaging suite featuring digital mammography, breast tomosynthesis, ultrasound, and bone density assessments
- Two Interventional Radiology suites, including one with a fixed C-arm and advanced features, and another fully integrated CT/C-arm room, which was the first of its kind in Massachusetts at the time of installation.
We are looking for an Interventional Radiologist with a broad skill set, including:
- Vascular procedures (Y-90, dialysis access, PAE, GI bleeds, endoleaks)
- Non-vascular procedures (microwave ablation, biliary interventions, urinary procedures, biopsies, and drains)
Our organization is affiliated with Harvard Medical School and Boston University School of Medicine, providing opportunities for appointments at either institution. The Radiology residency program is integrated with Boston Medical Center, and teaching residents and engaging in research are key components of our department's mission.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English is essential.
- A Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent qualification from a school recognized by the Department of Veterans Affairs at the time of graduation.
- A current, full, and unrestricted medical or surgical license in any U.S. State, Territory, or Commonwealth, including the District of Columbia.
- Completion of residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty program, leading to eligibility for board certification. Approved residency pathways include:
- Residencies accredited by the ACGME or AOA, as listed for the year of completion.
- One year of post-medical school training (internship, first year of residency, or transitional year) approved by ACGME or AOA, followed by two years of independent practice in the U.S.
- Non-U.S. residency training followed by a minimum of three years of verified independent practice in the U.S., with duties relevant to the position.
- Fellowship training in Interventional Radiology is required.
- ABR board certification or board eligibility is necessary.
