We are seeking a driven, relationship-focused Physician Liaison to expand referral partnerships, strengthen provider relationships, and support continued practice growth throughout the market. Position Summary
The Physician Liaison serves as the primary relationship-builder between the podiatry practice and referring providers, healthcare organizations, and community partners. This role is responsible for increasing referral volume, strengthening physician relationships, and promoting podiatric services through strategic outreach, education, and market intelligence.
Compensation & Incentives
- Base Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 annually, based on experience
- Incentive Opportunity: Eligible for performance-based incentives and bonus opportunities tied to referral growth, provider engagement, and business development goals.
Key Responsibilities
Referral Development & Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with referring physicians, advanced practice providers, and healthcare staff (primary care, orthopedics, endocrinology, wound care, vascular, etc.)
- Conduct regular in-person and virtual visits to referral sources to promote podiatry services
- Identify referral trends, gaps, and opportunities within assigned territory
- Serve as the liaison between referring providers and podiatrists to ensure seamless communication and patient access
Practice Growth & Marketing
- Educate referral sources on podiatric services, specialties, procedures, and provider expertise (e.g., diabetic foot care, wound care, sports injuries, surgery)
- Promote new providers, service lines, locations, and technologies
- Support community outreach events, health fairs, and educational programs
- Collaborate with marketing team on outreach materials and campaigns
Physician & Staff Engagement
- Address referral concerns, access issues, and feedback from providers and office staff
- Assist with onboarding new referral sources
- Support physician satisfaction and retention initiatives
Data, Reporting & Compliance
- Track referral activity, provider visits, and outcomes using CRM or referral tracking tools
- Prepare regular reports on outreach activity, referral volume, and market insights
- Ensure all activities comply with HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and organizational policies
Market Intelligence
- Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and payer dynamics
- Provide actionable insights to leadership on opportunities for growth
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, marketing, business, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of physician liaison, healthcare sales, medical device, or pharmaceutical experience preferred
- Knowledge of podiatry, orthopedic, or surgical services strongly preferred
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build long-term professional relationships
- Comfortable with travel within assigned territory
- Proficient in ModMed and Microsoft Office
