Position Overview:

Provides quality direct patient care and assists in the coordination of department services. Patient care may include evaluating, treating, care management, referral coordination and follow-up with specialists, and health education. This role provides training to medical staff and instructs and counsels patients.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Collect, record and maintain patient information including medical history, reports and examination results. • Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease or injury. • Advise, patients, family and community members concerning treatment and prevention. • Examine patients or order, perform and/r interpret diagnostic tests to obtain information on medical conditions and determine diagnoses. • Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary.

EDUCATION:

• Doctorate: Graduate of an accredited medical school • Other: Successful completion of a medical residency program • Other: Successful completion of a medical internship program

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

8 years recent relevant experience

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

• MD-Doctor of Medicine Upon Hire • OR DO-Doctor of Osteopathy of California Upon Hire • CSRC-Controlled Substance Registered Certification (DEA) Upon Hire • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Upon Hire • Board eligible or Board certified in area of specialty Upon Hire • ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire • NRP-Neonatal Resuscitation Provider Upon Hire

DEPARTMENT REQUIRED CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

• Department: Emergency Department, ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support • Department: Emergency Department, PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support • Department: Pediatrics, PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support

Pay Range is $432,016.00 to $702,998.40 / annual salary

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health's comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
