Physician - Medical Oncology

Job Details:

• Outpatient infusion and oncology clinic coverage, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• 
  
• 6-month contract with option to extend; full-time equivalent highly preferred
• 
  
• Onsite coverage preferred with one provider throughout contract; some telehealth coverage open for discussion
• 
  
• See approximately 13-20 patients per day
• 
  
• LPN and RN support on staff; APP support being added soon
• 
  
• Scope of practice includes infusion clinic, imaging, nuclear medicine, PET scan, CT and MRI, ultrasound, and in-house lab for blood draws
• 
  
• No radiation oncology involved in this role
• 
  
• Palliative care and telehealth services available
• 
  
• Manage full continuum of patient care including new patient consults, diagnosis, treatment planning, chemotherapy oversight, and ongoing disease management
• 
  
• Treat broad outpatient oncology and hematology population including solid tumor cancers and hematologic conditions requiring active management
• 
  
• Administer and oversee chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and oncology supportive therapies
• 
  
• Collaborate with surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, radiation oncology partners, primary care, and specialty providers
• 
  
• Access to clinical trials through MMCORC and NCI-supported research programs
• 
  
• Coordinate with infusion team to approve treatments, address lab abnormalities, and manage urgent patient needs
• 
  
• Charting must be completed within 24 hours
• 
  
• MN License or IMLC required

Facility:

This community-based medical center offers a comprehensive cancer care program integrated within a larger regional oncology network, providing patients access to advanced diagnostics and treatment options including PET, MRI, CT, and in-house laboratory services. The facility supports a multidisciplinary care team that includes oncology nurse navigators, infusion nursing staff, dedicated social workers, dietitians, financial navigators, and mental health support professionals. The oncology clinic and infusion center operate in close coordination, with five exam rooms, nine infusion chairs, two private infusion treatment rooms, and two fast-track triage rooms available to support high-quality, patient-centered care.
