Responsibilities:

The Administrative Fellowship is a one-year management experience with the opportunity to apply graduate study principles in the practical work setting of a fully integrated health care delivery system.  Northside fellows will gain experience by working in a variety of departments throughout System Service Lines and Physician Practice Management. Under the direction of the fellowship preceptor, fellows will support key initiatives and projects in each area. Fellows will participate in senior leadership team meetings and work as part of multi-disciplinary teams and independently to advance the strategic goals of Northside.

 

The Administrative Fellowship Program prepares fellows for health care administration leadership opportunities within the organization. Fellows will complete projects designed to strengthen administrative and leadership skills.

Qualifications:

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Science or Business field
  2. Master's degree (M.B.A., M.H.A., M.H.S.A., or related field)
    • or be on schedule to complete the degree before start date
    • or currently enrolled in a Master’s program with degree conferral expected upon completion of the administrative fellowship
  3. At least one (1) year of health care industry experience such as an internship, externship, fellowship, or applicable employment 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED

  1. Proficient in the use and application of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  3. Possess broad knowledge of current and historical perspectives on health care strategy, business management and administration, clinical practice management, clinical research and education, hospital administration and management, finance, human resources and organizational development, information systems, and managed care
