Become a part of our organization at the Department of Veterans Affairs Community Based Outpatient Clinic located in Santa Rosa, CA, as a Physician - Primary Care!

The Physician will function as a Primary Care Provider (PCP) within any Community Based Outpatient Clinic. This clinic operates using a Patient Aligned Care Team Model. Working alongside a dedicated team that includes a PCP, RN, LVN, and a Clerk, the PCP will manage a patient panel of approximately patients. In this collaborative environment, the PCP will deliver primary care services, focusing on chronic disease management and preventive health. Typical conditions treated include diabetes, hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, degenerative arthritis, depression, congestive heart failure, and chronic pain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and consult for non-surgical adult patients across all age groups, addressing a variety of diseases, injuries, and disorders without life-threatening complications.
  • Assess, stabilize, and determine the appropriate course of action for patients experiencing emergent conditions, in line with medical staff policies regarding emergency and consultative services.
  • Collaborate with and supervise mid-level providers, such as nurse practitioners, while also working in partnership with various specialties (and subspecialties) both within and outside the VA system to manage or co-manage patient health.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Benefits and Features
  • Expected Salary Range: $285K to $315K (negotiable based on qualifications, credentials, and experience).
  • Education Debt Reduction Program: Authorized for student loan repayment.
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 4:30 PM, excluding Federal Government holidays.
  • Pay: Competitive salary with an annual performance bonus and regular salary increases.
  • Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off annually, including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays, and a potential 5-day paid absence for CME.
  • Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and a federal 401K with contributions of up to 5% by the VA.
  • Insurance: Comprehensive federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement).
  • Licensure: Must possess one full and unrestricted license from any US state or territory.
  • CME: Potential reimbursement of up to $1,000 per year (must be full-time with board certification).
  • Malpractice: Liability protection provided at no cost, including tail coverage.
  • Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting.
