    Overview:

    Job Posting Title: Physician - Pulmonary & Critical Care

    Hospital Site: Greenwich Hospital

    Location: 500 West Putnam Avenue, Greenwich, CT 06830 (office located approximately 7 minutes from the hospital)

    Work Schedule: Rotating clinical schedule including outpatient pulmonary medicine, ICU attending coverage (approximately 6 weeks annually), and inpatient pulmonary hospital coverage; flexibility for additional ICU weeks based on physician interest.

    Responsibilities:

    Overview

    Northeast Medical Group is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pulmonary & Critical Care Physician to join a highly respected, collaborative three-physician practice in Greenwich, Connecticut. This opportunity offers a unique blend of outpatient pulmonary medicine, inpatient pulmonary consultative care, critical care medicine, and procedural work within a single hospital system. 

     

    The practice is known for its collegial culture, strong mentorship, thoughtful scheduling model, and commitment to delivering high-quality pulmonary and critical care services. Physicians rotate between office-based care, ICU attending responsibilities, and hospital pulmonary coverage, creating a diverse and engaging clinical practice.

     

    This opportunity is ideal for either a graduating fellow from a highly regarded Pulmonary & Critical Care training program or an experienced physician seeking a collaborative environment with a strong referral base and long-term partnership potential.

    Practice Highlights

    • Established three-physician Pulmonary & Critical Care practice
    • Coverage of a single hospital system
    • Office located approximately seven minutes from the hospital
    • Rotation-based practice model including outpatient pulmonary medicine, ICU attending coverage, and hospital pulmonary consultative services
    • Approximately six weeks annually dedicated to ICU attending responsibilities
    • Opportunity for additional ICU coverage based on physician interest
    • Strong mentorship and teaching environment
    • Academic and educational involvement with fellows and trainees
    • Productivity-based compensation model with additional stipends for ICU and hospital coverage

    Clinical Responsibilities

    • Provide comprehensive pulmonary and critical care services in both inpatient and outpatient settings
    • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic pulmonary diseases
    • Provide ICU attending services and critical care management
    • Participate in inpatient pulmonary consultation services
    • Perform pulmonary procedures including bronchoscopy and EBUS
    • Perform office-based procedures including thoracentesis, tunneled pleural catheter management, and pulmonary diagnostic testing
    • Collaborate with physician partners regarding complex patient management and treatment planning
    • Participate in call coverage and hospital-based responsibilities
    • Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the electronic medical record
    • Participate in educational activities, clinical quality initiatives, and program development as appropriate

    Candidate Profile

    The ideal candidate will be:

    • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine
    • Eligible for Connecticut medical licensure
    • Committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based patient care
    • Interested in practicing the full spectrum of pulmonary and critical care medicine
    • Comfortable performing pulmonary procedures or willing to receive mentorship and continued procedural development
    • Collaborative, team-oriented, and invested in building long-term relationships with colleagues and patients
    • Interested in joining a close-knit physician group that values mentorship, consultation, and shared decision-making

     

    Qualifications:

    Qualifications

    Education

    • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
    • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency program
    • Completion of an accredited Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine fellowship

    Licensure & Certifications

    • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine
    • Unrestricted Connecticut medical license or ability to obtain
    • DEA registration and Connecticut Controlled Substance Registration
    • BLS and ACLS certification, as required

    Preferred Experience

    • New graduates are encouraged to apply
