Job Opportunity: Staff Radiologist

Our organization is currently in search of a Permanent, Full-Time Staff Radiologist to deliver comprehensive Diagnostic Radiology services to Veterans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a full spectrum of diagnostic radiology services, including CT, MR, and ultrasound.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in nuclear medicine, including the interpretation of general studies, cardiac studies, and PET/CT scans.
  • Administer therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals such as I-131 sodium iodide, Ra-223 dichloride, and Y-90 microspheres.
  • Oversee compliance with NRC regulations in collaboration with the radiation safety officer and chief nuclear medicine technologist.
  • Participate in tele-radiology services and provide interpretation for cardiac nuclear studies for other facilities within the network.
Facility Overview

Our facility, with a capacity of 467 beds, spans three campuses in the Boston metropolitan area. The nuclear medicine division is part of the Radiology department and is equipped with three SPECT-CT cameras and a PET-CT scanner. We also accept referrals for therapeutic radiopharmaceutical treatments from various VA New England Healthcare System facilities.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English is essential.
  • A Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution recognized by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Possession of a current, unrestricted medical license to practice in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
  • Completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty program, leading to eligibility for board certification.
  • Additional requirement: Certification from the American Board of Radiology.
  • Preferred: Certification from the American Board of Nuclear Medicine.
Working Conditions

Residents currently enrolled in accredited residency programs may qualify as "Physician Resident Providers" (PRPs) under specific conditions. PRPs must hold a full medical license and can only be appointed on an intermittent basis, performing restricted duties under supervision.
