Thoracic Surgeon opening - Cooperstown, NY

  • 75 miles from Albany, NY; 190 miles from NYC
  • Salary: $550,000-650,000

  • Position Details
  • Perform thoracic surgeries, including minimally invasive and complex procedures.
  • Diagnose and treat conditions affecting the chest and thoracic cavity.
  • Collaborate with surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, pulmonologists, and other specialists to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Provide preoperative and postoperative care to patients.
  • Participate in clinical research and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Educate patients and families about treatment options and recovery processes.
  • Participate in medical student and General Surgery residency education.

  • Call for thoracic patients is shared with General Surgeons on nights and weekends.
  • Multi-disciplinary tumor board and ACS CoC accredited.
  • Requirements
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a residency in General Surgery and fellowship in Thoracic Surgery or Cardiothoracic Surgery.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Thoracic Surgery.
  • Valid medical license in New York State.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with advanced imaging and diagnostic tools.

  • Sign-On Bonus: Up to $100,000
