Physician - Urology

Job Details:

• Provide 24-hour urology call coverage on a 7a-7a schedule
• 
  
• In-house call is not required; however, response time to be on-site is within 20 minutes
• 
  
• Typically 2-4 calls per night with 1-2 expected on-site call-ins
• 
  
• Approximately 1-5 patients per shift with an average of 2-5 inpatient calls per 24-hour period
• 
  
• Physicians are not required to remain on-site during night or weekend call but are required to round and discharge
• 
  
• Average on-site call-back hours expected: 2-4 hours per day
• 
  
• If assignment is strictly 24-hour call: 2-4 hours per day of rounding with remaining hours on-call with call-back
• 
  
• Responsible for rounding on new admissions and any inpatient who requires rounding
• 
  
• Handle patient consults, transfer questions, and on-call inquiries
• 
  
• Common procedures include kidney stone management, consults on continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), stent placement, hematuria management, and difficult catheter placements
• 
  
• General urology skills required including adult urology and ureteroscopy
• 
  
• Laparoscopic surgery and nephrectomy skills preferred
• 
  
• Board certification required
• 
  
• Level 2 trauma facility
