Position Overview

Pain and Wellness Solutions of the Carolinas (PWSC) is seeking a highly skilled, compassionate, detail-oriented, and patient-centered Physician Assistant to join our growing practice part-time. This role is ideal for a provider who values clinical excellence, strong patient relationships, operational precision, and delivering an exceptional patient experience.

The Physician Assistant will primarily oversee all new patient clinical evaluations and play a critical role in supporting continuity of care, medical record management, medication oversight, and patient communication while upholding the PWSC Method of ExcellenceTM in quality care, patient safety, professionalism, and service.

This role requires a provider who is proactive, highly organized, emotionally intelligent, clinically strong, and committed to helping patients feel heard, respected, and cared for throughout their treatment journey.


Key Responsibilities


Clinical Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive new patient evaluations including detailed histories and physical examinations
  • Develop and document individualized assessment and treatment plans
  • Manage medication oversight and monitoring in collaboration with supervising physicians
  • Evaluate patient progress, treatment effectiveness, and ongoing care needs
  • Identify clinical concerns, safety risks, or escalation needs promptly
  • Support high standards of patient safety, compliance, and clinical excellence
  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff regarding patient care coordination
  • Ensure timely follow-up and continuity of care for patients

Documentation & Medical Record Management

  • Complete accurate, timely, and high-quality charting within the EMR system
  • Maintain organized and compliant medical documentation
  • Review incoming records, imaging, labs, referrals, and patient communications
  • Ensure medical records reflect PWSC standards for quality, precision, and continuity
  • Support efficient clinical workflows and operational excellence

Patient Experience & Relationship Management

  • Build strong, trusting, and professional relationships with patients
  • Provide exceptional communication and education regarding treatment plans and expectations
  • Ensure patients feel listened to, respected, supported, and well cared for
  • Help maintain a calm, compassionate, high-touch patient experience
  • Address patient concerns with professionalism, empathy, and clinical judgment
  • Uphold the PWSC commitment to service excellence and personalized care

Operational & Team Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with physicians, clinical staff, and administrative team members
  • Support efficient patient flow and scheduling coordination
  • Assist in maintaining a positive, solutions-oriented, and high-performing clinical culture
  • Participate in process improvement and quality initiatives when appropriate
  • Help uphold the operational and clinical standards of the PWSC Method of ExcellenceTM

Qualifications

  • Active PA license in North Carolina from the NC Medical Board
  • DEA license and prescriptive authority
  • Minimum 2+ years of clinical experience preferred
  • Experience in pain management, wellness, primary care, orthopedics, neurology, internal medicine, or related field preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High emotional intelligence and professionalism
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment
  • Experience with EMR systems preferred
