Job Overview

We are a well-established, patient-centered family/internal medicine practice located in West Hartford, CT, seeking a licensed Physician Assistant (PA) to join our outpatient clinical team. This role is focused on delivering high-quality primary care, managing both acute and chronic conditions, and fostering long-term, trusted relationships with patients.

The Physician Assistant will play an integral role in providing comprehensive patient care, including conducting clinical assessments, diagnosing and treating medical conditions, and collaborating closely with physicians and clinical staff. The PA will also support quality improvement and clinical research initiatives as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient histories, physical exams, and clinical evaluations
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with Connecticut law and supervising physician agreements
  • Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic tests
  • Provide preventive care including annual physicals and wellness visits
  • Educate patients on diagnoses, medications, and lifestyle modifications
  • Document care accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and clinical staff

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Active Connecticut PA license
  • NCCPA certification (PA-C)
  • DEA license (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience in primary care (preferred)
  • BLS certification
  • 1+ year experience in family medicine, internal medicine, or primary care preferred
  • Compassion, professionalism, and commitment to patient care
