Job Title and Overview

• Job Title: After-Hours Urgent Care Physician Assistant (PA-C)
• Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (2-4 shifts per week)
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Saturdays 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
• Location: Urgent Care Clinic Setting
• Reports to: Medical Director

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat acute, non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries during peak evening hours.
• Manage typical after-hours caseloads, including pediatric and adult walk-in patients.
• Treat minor injuries like lacerations, sprains, fractures, and minor burns.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including point-of-care lab work.
• Perform common procedures such as suturing, splinting, toe nail removal, foreign body removal, laceration repairs, and incision and drainage.
• Prescribe medications and provide clear, comprehensive discharge instructions.
• Stabilize patients experiencing medical emergencies and coordinate safe transfers to the emergency room.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.
• Certification: Current certification by the NCCPA.
• Licensure: Valid state PA license and active DEA registration.
• Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or family practice preferred.
• Skills: Strong independent clinical judgment, efficiency in a fast-paced environment, and excellent patient communication.

Working Conditions

• Fast-paced urgent care environment during high-volume afternoon and evening hours.
• Routine standing, walking, and patient handling throughout the 8-hour shift.
