$52,700 $112,200, commensurate with experience, certifications, and advanced degrees, in accordance with the salary guide
Position Summary:
Bogota Public Schools is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated New Jersey-certified Physics Teacher to join our high school science department. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, standards-aligned instruction that promotes scientific reasoning, problem-solving, and inquiry-based learning while supporting the academic and social-emotional growth of all students.
Qualifications:
- Valid New Jersey Teacher Certification in Physics (Standard or CE/CEAS)
- Bachelor's degree in Physics, Science Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Demonstrated knowledge of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) for Science
- Experience implementing inquiry-based, hands-on, and phenomenon-based instruction
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, administrators, and families
- Commitment to equity, differentiation, and meeting the needs of diverse learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, rigorous physics instruction aligned to the NJSLS
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including laboratory investigations and real-world applications
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including students with IEPs and English Language Learners
- Assess student learning using formative and summative assessments and use data to guide instruction
- Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
- Collaborate with the science department on curriculum development and vertical alignment
- Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school-based initiatives
- Communicate regularly with students, families, and staff regarding student progress
