POSITION: Pianist - To accompany choirs and musicals/plays for 2026-2027 school year

DEADLINE: Until Filled

QUALIFICATIONS: Piano performance or education degree preferred

Experience accompanying both vocal ensembles and soloists

SCHEDULE: Average weekly schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday - 2 hours per day

Concert weeks: Monday-Friday - 2 hours per day, plus dress rehearsal and performance.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

SALARY: $20.00/hr.

JOB GOAL: To collaborate with and assist the choral director as necessary and accompany whole group rehearsals, sectionals, and performances. Performances include concerts, choral festival, solo & ensemble, and fundraising events.

EXPECTATIONS:

• Accompany and play parts for two ensembles
• Play music of varied styles and types, including but not limited to the following: classical, light opera, musical theater, jazz, rock, and current popular music
• Read and play single and multiple vocal parts in the creative process
• Ability to follow a conductor
• Sight read and learn music for multiple ensembles and soloists quickly
• Accept and implement artistic direction of the vocal music director and other colleagues in the creative process in a professional and collaborative manner
• Exhibit professional and stage etiquette to serve as a model of professionalism at all musical productions
• Exhibit positive, professional communication skills and appearance with students, staff, parents and community

EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
