Position Summary:
The Picker is responsible for accurately selecting and preparing customer orders for shipment within a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role utilizes warehouse technology and material handling equipment (electrical jack and Hi-lo) to retrieve products, build pallets, and prepare orders while maintaining productivity, accuracy, product quality, and food safety standards.
The Picker plays a critical role in supporting customer satisfaction by ensuring orders are fulfilled accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company operational standards.
Responsibilities:
- Retrieve picking assignments through warehouse scanning technology, RF scanners, and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Accurately select products according to customer orders, product specifications, and operational requirements.
- Verify product descriptions, quantities, lot codes, and order details to ensure order accuracy.
- Operate pallet jacks and approved Hi-Lo safely and effectively.
- Build pallets according to company safety, product handling, and route requirements.
- Wrap, label, and prepare completed pallets for staging, loading, and shipment.
- Maintain proper product rotation utilizing FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices.
- Monitor product quality and identify damaged, expired, or non-conforming products.
- Report inventory discrepancies, product shortages, damages, or quality concerns to leadership.
- Maintain productivity and order accuracy expectations while meeting operational performance standards.
- Keep assigned work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
- Follow all GMP, HACCP, food safety, quality assurance, and workplace safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse operations, inventory control, quality control, loaders, and leadership teams to support daily operational goals.
- Assist with replenishment, product movement, inventory organization, and other warehouse support activities as needed.
- Perform additional warehouse and operational duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Prior warehouse, order picking, distribution, logistics, or fulfillment experience preferred but not required.
- Experience using RF scanners, handheld devices, or warehouse management systems preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic math and counting skills preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and move products within company established guidelines, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work in refrigerated, freezer, or varying warehouse temperature environments depending on operational assignment.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse tools, RF scanners, and related equipment as trained.

Work Environment:
This position operates within warehouse and distribution environments that may include refrigerated, freezer, wet, and fast-paced operational conditions. Associates may be exposed to moving machinery, powered industrial equipment, pallet traffic, varying temperatures, and moderate to loud noise levels. The role requires frequent movement throughout warehouse operational areas and adherence to established safety and food handling standards.

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive HR experience, including experience as an HR Business Partner or HR leader supporting corporate or professional functions.
- Demonstrated experience supporting multiple functional groups simultaneously (e.g., Sales, Finance, Operations, Technology).
- Demonstrated expertise in job reorganization, organizational design, and job leveling.
- Advanced employee relations experience, including investigations and high-risk matters.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to influence at the senior leadership level.
- Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred for workforce support.
- SHRM certification a plus.
