The Institute for Clinical and Translational Science is a special project department housed under the Office of Research on the UCI Campus. The UCI CTSA is one of 62 NIH-NCATS funded institutes in the US. The ICTS Mission is to improve health and healthcare by catalyzing translational research across the spectrum and by advancing the science of translation. The cohesive theme of ICTS is to build, track, implement, and evaluate sustainable programs that advance innovation, quality, efficiency, and value of translational science across the broad spectrum of clinical research. The ICTS functions as a local centerpiece for the national program, and we are dedicated to advancing scientific discovery and medical breakthroughs. Collectively, our goal is simple: to accelerate these discoveries from the lab and translate them into life-altering medical care. The ICTS provides diverse resources to UCI researchers, such as faculty and student training awards, pilot study seed funding, expert consultation on statistical analyses, participant recruitment, and implementation of human subjects research studies, and professional education



Responsibilities:

Independently oversees the ICTS Pilot Programs Unit and represents the program to outside organizations, managing the full lifecycle of complex research and academic pilot initiatives from design and implementation through evaluation and continuous improvement. The role directs and administers an independent program with responsibility for programmatic and administrative operations, including development of policies, processes, and program structures that support strategic research priorities.. Assists with the design and development of academic or research program components and administers the full range of the program components and operational requirements; administrative, finance, human resources, and facilities for the academic or research program. Works with faculty on formulating short-term planning and procedures of the programs. Develops and organizes conferences and other public forums. Works under direction of Principal Investigator to establish center agenda, funding, objectives. The position also serves on and leads committees and cross-institutional working groups, facilitating collaboration across internal and external partners, managing sensitive stakeholder relationships, and ensuring alignment across interdisciplinary initiatives. In addition, the role represents the program in professional forums, supports communications and dissemination of program outcomes, and contributes to organizational visibility and engagement within the broader research community

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Academic background and experience in selected area of research.
  • Advanced knowledge of administrative, budgetary, human resources and financial principles and practices.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced ability to think creatively and independently on concepts requiring advanced analytical skills.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups to achieve results.
  • Advanced ability to work collaboratively with internal and external peers and managers.
  • Highly skilled fundraising experience.
  • Doctorate in related area and / or equivalent experience training
  • Experience working in research
  • 3-5 yearsRelevant experience

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $113,505- $138,915 (Annual).
