HumanHire is hiring a PIP Insurance Verification Coordinator for a specialty healthcare practice in Clifton, NJ. The ideal candidate will have experience verifying medical insurance coverage, managing personal injury protection (PIP) claims, reviewing surgical benefits, and communicating with insurance carriers, attorneys, adjusters, and patients. This role ensures patients are financially cleared and surgical cases move forward without delays.

Monday – Friday | Full-Time | Onsite

• 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pay
$25.00–$27.00/hour

Responsibilities

• Verify New Jersey PIP insurance eligibility, claims, policy limits, deductibles, and available benefits
• Review PIP claims, benefit ledgers, claim status, and potential coverage issues
• Verify out-of-network commercial insurance benefits, deductibles, coinsurance, authorizations, and coverage limitations
• Complete insurance verification for scheduled surgeries and high-value procedures
• Confirm coverage for physician, facility, anesthesia, and other surgical services
• Communicate with insurance carriers, adjusters, attorneys, patients, and internal departments
• Obtain and maintain accurate insurance, claim, and legal documentation
• Identify coverage concerns that may impact authorization, scheduling, or reimbursement
• Maintain detailed notes and updates within EHR systems, payer portals, and tracking systems

Qualifications

• 3+ years of medical insurance verification experience required
• New Jersey PIP claim verification experience strongly preferred
• Experience verifying out-of-network insurance benefits required
• Surgical, orthopedic, spine, pain management, or specialty healthcare experience preferred
• Knowledge of PIP benefits, coordination of benefits (COB), prior authorizations, precertification, and surgical verification
• Experience communicating with insurance carriers, attorneys, adjusters, and patients
• Proficiency with EHR/practice management systems, payer portals, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Teams
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-up skills
