Pipe Fabrication Operator
Location: Ashland, VA 23005
Pay Rate: $20.00/Hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Are you mechanically inclined and enjoy working with industrial equipment? We're seeking motivated individuals with machine operation, fabrication, automotive, diesel, maintenance, or mechanical experience to join our pipe fabrication team. If you enjoy working with your hands, operating machinery, and building quality products in a fast-paced environment, this opportunity is for you!
What You'll Do
Move loose or bundled pipe throughout the facility and yard
Assemble pipe orders and prepare materials for shipment
Set up and operate pipe fabrication equipment
Measure, cut, thread, and bevel pipe to customer specifications
Operate machinery including:
- Band Saws
- Pipe Threading Machines
- Automatic Welding Equipment
- Roll Groove Machines
- Plasma Cutting Equipment
- Pneumatic Banders
Conduct quality checks using gauges and measuring tools
Record and calculate pipe lengths accurately
Safely stack, organize, and transport materials
Perform daily equipment inspections, including forklifts
Follow OSHA safety standards and company procedures
Qualifications
Minimum 6-8 months of recent machinery operation experience
Mechanical aptitude with experience in manufacturing, automotive, diesel, maintenance, fabrication, or related fields
Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure
Experience using gauges for quality inspections
Basic computer skills to operate automated machinery
Strong math and measurement skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to safely move and handle pipe ranging from ½" to 10" in diameter
Preferred Experience
Fire sprinkler pipe fabrication
Pipe threading, cutting, grooving, or welding operations
Forklift or industrial equipment operation
Automotive repair
Diesel mechanics
Farm equipment maintenance
Manufacturing production environments
Work Environment
Industrial manufacturing facility
Non-climate-controlled environment that can become hot during warmer months
Physically active role involving lifting, moving, sorting, and fabricating pipe
Fast-paced production setting focused on safety and quality
