Key Responsibilities
System Fabrication: Measure, cut, and fit up high-purity stainless steel sanitary tubing and piping systems for custom process skids.Manifold Assembly: Assemble and fit up complex valve manifolds and process skids according to engineering drawings.Tank Fitting: Position, align, and fit up process vessels, reactors, and tanks into skid systems.Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), isometric drawings, and layout schematics.Weld Preparation: Ensure precise fit-ups and beveling for sanitary TIG/GTAW welding.Quality & Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to hygienic design standards (e.g., 3-A, FDA, ASME BPE) to ensure crevice-free, contamination-resistant joints.
Qualifications
Experience: 2+ years of dedicated experience in sanitary process piping.Specialized Skills: Proven track record of fitting up complex valve manifolds and stainless steel process equipment.
Preferred: Hands-on experience fitting up and aligning sanitary process tanks.Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of sanitary connections (Tri-Clamp, Bevel Seat), surface finish requirements, and passivation.Tool Proficiency: Skilled in using sanitary pipe cutters, facing tools, grinders, and measuring instruments.Industry Focus: Direct background building process skids or modular systems for the food, dairy, beverage, or pharmaceutical industries.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in tight or elevated spaces.Ability to lift and maneuver heavy pipe components (up to 50 lbs).Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing shop environment.
