Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable Pipe Prep Technician to join a growing fabrication team in Tulsa. This position is responsible for preparing pipe materials for production by grinding, beveling, and cleaning pipe surfaces while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and efficiency.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, enjoys hands-on work, and takes pride in preparing materials that meet production specifications.
Required Experience & Skills
Ability to safely use hand and power grinding tools
Ability to lift, carry, and move materials throughout the shift
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Previous industrial, fabrication, or manufacturing experience is a plus
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Grind paint and coatings from pipe surfaces in preparation for fabrication and welding
Bevel pipe ends according to production specifications
Prepare pipe materials for downstream production processes
Inspect prepared materials to ensure they meet quality standards
Safely operate grinders, beveling equipment, and other hand and power tools
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and production requirements
Assist with additional fabrication and material handling duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
Previous pipe preparation or metal fabrication experience
Experience using industrial grinding and beveling equipment
Familiarity with manufacturing safety procedures
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn additional fabrication skills
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive physical activity throughout the shift
Ability to safely operate hand and power tools while wearing required PPE
Comfortable working around heavy steel, grinding equipment, sparks, and industrial machinery
Work Environment
Heavy industrial manufacturing and pipe fabrication facility
Exposure to grinders, beveling equipment, steel materials, noise, sparks, and metal dust
Fast-paced production environment focused on safety, quality, and productivity
