Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking experienced Pipe to Flange Fitters to join an industrial fabrication team in Claremore. This position is responsible for accurately preparing, fitting, aligning, and assembling pipe, flanges, valves, and related components according to engineering drawings and project specifications.
The ideal candidate has previous pipe fitting or fabrication experience, strong measurement and layout skills, and the ability to work from isometric drawings, P&IDs, and fabrication diagrams. Precision is critical, particularly when establishing proper flange alignment, bolt-hole positioning, and flange-face orientation.
Required Experience & Skills
Previous pipe fitting, flange fitting, fabrication, or industrial construction experience preferred
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and piping schematics
Experience with pipe preparation, layout, fit-up, and assembly
Knowledge of piping materials and flange types
Understanding of gasket selection and bolting procedures
Strong mathematical and precision measurement skills
Ability to accurately align pipe and flange assemblies
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a fabrication team
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Measure, cut, bevel, and prepare pipe for fabrication and assembly
Fit and align pipe, flanges, valves, and related components according to specifications
Verify proper pipe-to-flange fit-up before welding
Check bolt-hole alignment and flange-face orientation
Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, P&IDs, and fabrication diagrams
Lay out piping components according to required dimensions
Assemble piping systems in preparation for welding, testing, and installation
Verify dimensions and alignment using appropriate measuring equipment
Install and position gaskets according to assembly requirements
Perform flange make-up and follow required bolting procedures
Verify applicable bolt torque requirements
Inspect completed assemblies for dimensional accuracy and workmanship
Identify and correct fit-up or alignment problems before assemblies move to the next production stage
Work closely with Welders, Fabricators, and supervisors to maintain production schedules
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Follow all company and OSHA safety requirements
Perform additional pipe fitting and fabrication duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications
Previous Pipe Fitter or Pipe to Flange Fitter experience
Industrial pipe fabrication experience
Flange assembly experience
Advanced isometric drawing interpretation skills
P&ID experience
Experience preparing pipe assemblies for welding
Hydrostatic or pressure testing experience
Refinery, manufacturing, industrial construction, or fabrication shop experience
Strong knowledge of piping materials, flanges, gaskets, and bolting requirements

Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, lifting, and positioning
Ability to safely handle pipe, flanges, valves, and fabrication materials
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required for precision fit-up work
Ability to safely operate hand and power tools while wearing required PPE
Comfortable performing physically demanding fabrication work throughout the shift
Work Environment
Industrial manufacturing and pipe fabrication environment
Regular work around pipe, flanges, valves, welding operations, and fabrication equipment
Hands-on position requiring frequent measuring, layout, preparation, and component alignment
Quality-focused environment where dimensional accuracy and proper flange orientation are critical
Regular collaboration with Welders, Fabricators, supervisors, and other production personnel
