General SummaryIn this intermediate level role, the pipefitter will fit up and bridge tack weld pipe systems of various shapes, sizes, and grades as specified by fabrication drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions by applying appropriate fitting techniques.Principle Duties & Responsibilities: • Must have general knowledge of pipe fabrication. • Performs visual inspections of completed welds. • Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding. • Ability to setup welding equipment (welding machine, positioner, wire feeder, etc.). • Weld various metal materials with appropriate welding procedure. • Ability to select proper filler materials based off welding procedures. • Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. • Area of work will remain clean and orderly, aligning with our 6S program. • EE must align with EFX visions and values. Perform other duties as required.Qualifications: • Exceeds all requirements of Pipe Welder I • High School Diploma/GED or 1-year technical diploma/vocational certificate desired. • 1 - 3 years of relevant pipe fabrication experience required. • Must have general knowledge of pipe ISO’s and welding procedures. • Intermediate knowledge of materials (materials grade, schedule, fittings, ext.) • Must have experience welding carbon steel. • Must pass 6G pipe test with GMAW and FCAW processes, and experience in welding carbon steel pipe 3”OD and above in all positions. • Ability to pass 6G pipe test with GTAW desired. • Ability to pass 1G pipe test with SAW desired. • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works under general supervision.Working Conditions:Industrial environment. This role will require a large amount of standing, bending, squatting, lifting and walking on a constant basis. May be required to lift, carry and move up to 50 lbs. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity.
