Summary
Pipefitter I is an entry level position responsible for the installation and repair of water lines, service lines, isolation valves, water taps, water meter boxes, fire hydrants, and other water components. The pipefitter I is required to be available for emergency calls and is considered an essential position. This is a manual labor-intensive position and is required to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Working significant amounts of overtime is to be expected with this position. Punctuality and attendance are necessary. On the job training and support is available. This is a career ladder position; with training and experience promotion to Pipefitter II is available.

This position must be available to work on a rotating shift including nights, evenings, weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather. This position is considered weather essential personnel. Standard hours are 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday. Subject to rotating shifts and 24-hour emergency call outs.
