We have an exciting opportunity for a Pipefitter position in Norfolk Virginia!
Qualifications:
- Must be eligible to obtain DBIDS.
- Minimum of 5 years of ship pipefitting experience, preferably in ship repair or industrial environments
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship preferred
- Strong ability to read and interpret complex piping drawings and schematics
- Must have Advanced knowledge of piping systems, materials, and fabrication techniques
- Experience with welding processes and pipe welding preparation
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in industrial environments, including confined spaces and elevated areas
Job Duties entail but are not limited to:
- Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair shipboard piping systems including hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, water, steam, VCHT, and CHT systems
- Interpret complex blueprints, isometric drawings, and technical specifications
- Perform advanced pipe layout, cutting, threading, bending, and fit-up
- Install valves, hangers, supports, and associated piping components
- Conduct pressure testing, leak detection, and air/hydrostatic testing
- Diagnose and troubleshoot piping system issues and perform necessary repairs
- Plan work sequences, materials, and execution to meet project schedules
- Coordinate work with welders and other trades to ensure proper system integration
- Lead and mentor junior pipefitters and apprentices, providing technical guidance
- Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations (including OSHA)
