Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Pipe Fitter to assemble, install, and repair piping systems in accordance with blueprints, drawings, and specifications. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience with industrial piping systems, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, and maintain piping systems including water, steam, gas, air, and other industrial process systems
- Interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and technical specifications accurately
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angles using hand and power tools
- Install valves, hangers, supports, and other piping components
- Perform hydrostatic and pressure testing of piping systems
- Weld, braze, or solder pipe systems as required
- Inspect piping systems and components to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards
- Troubleshoot and repair piping systems and related equipment
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
Qualifications
- Proven 5+ years experience as a Pipe Fitter in the shipyard
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and piping drawings
- Experience with pipe threading, cutting, fitting, and installation
- Knowledge of welding and joining techniques
- Strong measuring and layout skills
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding conditions
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred
- Must be a US Citizen
