MAVRX, LLC is seeking an early-career Pipeline Design Engineer in Training (EIT) to support pipeline design within our Land Survey Division, which serves interstate oil and gas transmission operators with preliminary and as-built pipeline survey and a growing in-house design capability. Working under the direction of a licensed Professional Engineer, this fully remote role offers direct exposure to the full project lifecycle — from geotechnical location designation and HDD/bore design to drafting and project research — and a clear path toward PE licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Support geotechnical location designation for pipeline alignments, crossings, and bore/HDD locations
  • Assist in HDD and conventional bore design, including profile development, entry/exit geometry, and feasibility review
  • Produce design drafting and exhibits in support of survey and engineering deliverables
  • Conduct project research, including right-of-way, permitting, regulatory, environmental, and existing-utility data gathering
  • Research permit requirements and prepare permit drawings for submittal to federal, state, and local municipalities for approval
  • Coordinate with survey crews, project managers, and clients to translate field data into design products
  • Support QA/QC of design deliverables under PE supervision and maintain documentation standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or an adjacent engineering discipline (degree-equivalent experience considered)
  • EIT certification, or eligibility to obtain (passed or eligible to sit for the FE exam)
  • 0–4 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Proficiency with CAD software (Civil 3D / AutoCAD or equivalent)
  • Strong technical writing, organization, and attention to detail
  • Commitment to pursuing PE licensure
  • Reliable remote office setup, including a stable high-speed internet connection
Preferred Qualifications

  • Pipeline design experience
  • Exposure to HDD/bore design, geotechnical investigation, or crossing design
  • Familiarity with oil and gas transmission projects and pipeline regulatory frameworks
Compensation & Benefits (Colorado Disclosure)

  • Hourly pay: $34.00 – $45.00 per hour
  • Overtime eligible in accordance with applicable law
  • Benefits may include medical, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off and paid holidays; and a 401(k) with company match (if applicable)
  • PE exam/licensure reimbursement and continuing education support
  • Paid sick leave provided in accordance with Colorado law
  • Colorado-based employees are eligible for Colorado FAMLI (Family and Medical Leave Insurance) benefits; remote employees in other states are covered by applicable state/federal leave programs.
  • Application deadline: accepting applications on an ongoing basis
