Location: Pico Rivera, California

\n

Work arrangement: Primarily on-site, 4–5 days per week

\n

Employment type: Full-time employee position supporting an anticipated two-year client engagement

\n

Experience: 4+ years of relevant engineering experience

\n

Salary: $120,000–$135,000 annually

\n

\n

Position Summary

\n

The Engineer II supports our client’s Integrity Management Program by reviewing, organizing, analyzing, and documenting inline inspection (ILI) data and vendor deliverables. The role works within the Assessment Team and reports to the Assessment Team Manager.

\n

The successful candidate will apply sound engineering judgment to routine and moderately complex pipeline-integrity assessments, identify data-quality or technical concerns, and escalate higher-risk or unusual conditions for senior review.

\n

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

• Review ILI vendor reports, data packages, feature lists, dig sheets, and supporting documentation for completeness, consistency, and conformance with project requirements.

\n

• Interpret results from pig runs and evaluate reported anomalies, including metal loss, deformation, crack-like features, and other integrity threats within the candidate’s demonstrated competency.

\n

• Perform quality-control checks, data reconciliation, trending, calculations, and technical analyses using approved tools and procedures.

\n

• Compare current ILI results with prior inspections, pipeline records, operating history, cathodic-protection information, and other relevant integrity data.

\n

• Identify discrepancies, missing information, and potential data-quality concerns; coordinate questions and clarifications with ILI vendors and internal stakeholders.

\n

• Support anomaly review, prioritization, remediation planning, and integrity-assessment documentation.

\n

• Prepare clear technical summaries, workpapers, presentations, and recommendations for review by senior engineers and program leadership.

\n

• Track assigned assessments, deliverables, decisions, and action items to meet schedule and documentation requirements.

\n

• Apply applicable company procedures, federal and state pipeline-safety requirements, and recognized industry standards.

\n

• Collaborate with integrity, corrosion/CP, operations, GIS, data management, and engineering personnel.

\n

\n

Required Qualifications

\n

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil, materials, chemical, corrosion, or another relevant engineering discipline from an accredited program.

\n

• At least four years of relevant engineering experience; candidates with three years of directly relevant pipeline integrity experience may also be considered.

\n

• Working knowledge of ILI technologies, PIG-run data, anomaly terminology, assessment methods, or pipeline integrity processes.

\n

• Ability to review technical data critically, perform engineering calculations, recognize inconsistencies, and document conclusions.

\n

• Strong Excel and data-analysis skills, with the ability to learn client-specific integrity and data-management systems.

\n

• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with vendors and multidisciplinary teams.

\n

• Ability and willingness to work in the assigned Chatsworth or Pico Rivera office 4–5 days per week.

\n

\n

Preferred Qualifications

\n

• Experience reviewing ILI vendor deliverables or performing ILI data analysis for gas transmission or distribution pipelines.

\n

• Experience with a pipeline Integrity Management Program, anomaly response, remediation, or regulatory documentation.

\n

• Cathodic-protection, corrosion-control, coatings, pressure-testing, or direct-assessment experience.

\n

• Familiarity with 49 CFR Part 192, PHMSA requirements, ASME B31.8S, API 1163, and applicable assessment methods.

\n

• EIT certification, AMPP/NACE training, or relevant ILI or inspection training.

\n

Level of Responsibility and Decision-Making

\n

• Works independently on routine and moderately complex assignments within established methods and procedures.

\n

• Recommendations are reviewed by a senior engineer, technical lead, or manager when warranted by risk, complexity, novelty, or program significance.

\n

• Does not serve as the program’s final technical authority unless separately designated and qualified.

\n
