Relocation Authorized: National - SingleTelework Type: Full-Time Office/ProjectWork Location: Brownsville, TXProject OverviewBechtel is partnering with NextDecade to support their Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) project in Brownsville, Texas. The project is a natural gas liquefaction and export terminal on a 984‑acre site on the Brownsville ship channel. The first phase consists of three liquefaction trains, two storage tanks and one marine berth. When fully completed the facility will have a capacity of 27 million tonnes per annum.Job SummaryProvide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing, and subcontract coordination. Recommendations will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.Major ResponsibilitiesWork Planning & PackagingPrepare construction drawings and sketches.Facilitate planning construction methods and procedures.Develop firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development (Direct Hire).Material ManagementInitiate requisitions for field purchases.Prepare quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.QuantitiesVerify commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer databases as required.Safety & Quality ControlEnsure zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others within the operational area.TechnicalSeek continuous learning opportunities and pursue appropriate learning activities.System Turnover CoordinatorReview and approve inspection test plans.Coordinate reviews of subcontractor submittals.Education and Experience RequirementsBachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5–8 years of relevant experience, or 9–12 years of relevant work experience.Required Knowledge and SkillsTechnical knowledge of all phases of construction engineering relating to a single discipline interfacing with all areas, or in a multi‑discipline position assigned to a single area.Thorough knowledge of construction activities as they relate to engineering disciplines, cost and scheduling, and contract administration.Familiar with Bechtel's Business Ethics handbook and policies.Knowledge of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility.Knowledge of project‑specific environmental compliance requirements.Knowledge of Bechtel's “Zero Accidents” safety program.Knowledge of the use of subcontracts; knowledge of contractor/subcontractor responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.Prior experience supervising and administering subcontractors.Additional InformationMust be willing to work a flexible schedule as required, which may include night shift or split shift.Work requires physical ability to conduct field inspections, including walking in and around a construction site in high heat and humidity, climbing ladders, scaffolding, elevated platforms, uneven surfaces, confined spaces; some lifting may be required.
