ABOUT US

Okland is a commercial general contractor and construction management company with more than 1,300 team members, delivering complex projects across healthcare, semiconductor, higher education, sports, hospitality, and other specialized markets. Founded in 1918 in Salt Lake City, we have grown for more than a century and operate throughout Utah, Arizona, and Idaho.

What Makes Okland Different?

We Create Remarkable Experiences

We believe how we build is just as important as what we build, and we approach every relationship with care. From clients and trade partners to team members and communities, we focus on creating experiences that earn trust.

We Share Success

Okland combines the stability of family ownership with employee ownership through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan. This unique structure provides the long-term perspective, and values-driven leadership that have guided our company for generations, while giving team members the opportunity to share the success they help create.

We Build Better Together

Our culture is rooted in accountability, humility, and excellence. We challenge the status quo, empower problem-solving, and trust our teams to take ownership and act. We learn from one another and work toward shared goals to deliver meaningful work with lasting impact. We invest in the next generation of construction talent through apprenticeships, internships, and scholarships for our communities. By expanding access for women, underrepresented groups, and families of our craft workforce who are first-generation college students, we strengthen the future of construction.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

If you have a strong background in industrial piping and experience leading piping operations in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing environments, we want to talk to you. In this role, you'll lead the safe, high-quality, and on-schedule installation of process, high-purity, utility, and specialty piping systems while coordinating craft labor and subcontractors in a demanding cleanroom environment. You will thrive in this role if you bring hands-on knowledge of high-purity stainless steel and plastic piping systems, including PVDF and polypropylene, along with experience reading P&IDs and isometrics and leading multi-crew operations. Strong communication, problem-solving, and field leadership skills are essential to success in this role.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily piping installation activities including carbon steel, stainless steel, high-purity stainless, specialty alloy systems, and high-purity plastic systems such as UPW, process chemicals, specialty gases, and vacuum.
  • Enforce cleanroom and contamination-control requirements, including gowning, material staging, and cleanliness protocols.
  • Direct and mentor pipefitters, welders, plastic fusion technicians, and helpers while managing crew productivity and resolving field issues in real time.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers, QA/QC, safety, and other trades while overseeing material handling, fabrication tracking, and field verification of delivered materials and spools.
  • Track progress against the schedule, identify constraints early, and implement recovery plans while maintaining accurate daily reports, manpower logs, and as-built documentation.
  • Support inspection, testing, including hydro, pneumatic, and helium leak testing, and turnover packages while ensuring work complies with project specifications, P&IDs, isometrics, SEMI standards where applicable, ASME B31.3, and applicable codes.
  • Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety observations while ensuring adherence to site-specific safety programs.

YOU’RE READY FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE

• 8+ years of industrial piping experience, with at least 4–5 years in a supervisory role on large industrial or semiconductor projects.

• Strong working knowledge of high-purity piping systems, including stainless steel and high-purity plastic piping such as PVDF and polypropylene/Polypro, orbital welding, and plastic fusion/joining methods.

• Proven ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and construction drawings and lead multi-crew piping operations under tight schedules and high quality standards.

• Experience on semiconductor fab or advanced manufacturing projects is preferred, along with hands-on or supervisory experience with high-purity PVDF and polypropylene piping systems, including socket fusion, butt fusion, and IR welding techniques.

• Current or ability to obtain required site credentials and cleanroom access. OSHA 30 and relevant safety certifications are preferred.
