AXIS ENGINEERING- Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV)


RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Support the Company’s mission, vision, values, and goals in the performance of daily activities.

·         Diagnose, repair, and maintain forklifts and other material handling equipment

·         Perform mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine repairs on gas, diesel, LPG, and electric PIVs

·         Troubleshoot equipment issues and determine effective repair solutions independently

·         Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and safety inspections

·         Inspect, lubricate, and service equipment.

·         Check, fill, and/or change appropriate fluids for all equipment parts and check/change filters.

·         Ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently

·         Must be able to safely operate all equipment and move it in and out of the service area

·         Accurately document work performed, parts used, and fill out logs on equipment

·         Help maintain inventory and determine commonly used parts to keep on hand for stock

·         May assist in other areas of the maintenance shop as needed.

 

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

·         High school diploma or equivalent; 1–5 years of relevant experience and/or training, or a comparable combination of education and experience.

·         Experience with CAT and Linde forklifts

·         Technical Certifications or training on heavy equipment, forklift, or automotive

·         Good mechanical aptitude with basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair.

·         Working knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and hydraulic systems

·         Understanding and ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical components, using a VOM

·         Basic welding and fabrication skills

·         Basic computer skills for email and logging repair and service information

·         Good communication skills and working well independently and in a team environment 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

 

Duties include but are not limited to standing, walking, bending, lifting, lift, talking, and hearing, with an ability to travel.  When visiting plant site locations, employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, or hazardous materials.
