Position Overview

Scoops & Slices is seeking an energetic, dependable, and quality-driven Pizza Cook to join our Food & Beverage team. This position is responsible for preparing handcrafted pizzas and other quick-service menu items while delivering exceptional food quality, consistency, and speed of service in a fast-paced resort environment.

The ideal candidate enjoys working in an open kitchen, takes pride in their craft, thrives during busy meal periods, and contributes to creating memorable dining experiences for resort guests and families. This role plays an important part in maintaining South Seas' commitment to outstanding hospitality, food quality, cleanliness, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Execution

  • Prepare, assemble, and cook pizzas according to established recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
  • Prepare pizza dough, sauces, toppings, and other ingredients while maintaining freshness and quality standards.
  • Prepare additional menu items including salads, appetizers, sandwiches, desserts, and other quick-service offerings as assigned.
  • Operate pizza ovens and kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure products are consistently prepared to company standards.
  • Maintain attractive food displays and replenish ingredients throughout service.

Guest Experience

  • Prepare meals accurately and efficiently to meet guest expectations during high-volume service periods.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance while working in an open kitchen environment.
  • Support a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere through teamwork and attention to detail.
  • Respond professionally to special requests or dietary needs when appropriate.

Kitchen Operations

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout each shift.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines.
  • Properly rotate products using FIFO methods and monitor food quality.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, labeling, and organizing inventory.
  • Minimize waste through proper portioning and product handling.
  • Notify supervisors of inventory shortages, equipment issues, or quality concerns.

Teamwork

  • Work collaboratively with fellow culinary and front-of-house team members to ensure efficient operations.
  • Assist with opening, closing, and cleaning duties.
  • Support other Food & Beverage outlets during peak business periods as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training and maintain South Seas service standards.

What are we looking for?

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have valid drivers license, motor vehicle background check will be completed.
  • Previous experience as a pizza cook, line cook, prep cook, or similar culinary position preferred.
  • Experience operating pizza ovens is highly desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
  • Work safely around hot ovens, sharp equipment, and commercial kitchen machinery.
  • Tolerate exposure to heat, steam, and varying kitchen temperatures.
