POSITION SUMMARY
The Program Coordinator serves a vital role in advancing Vanguard University's mission by supporting the School of Education's commitment to preparing Christ-centered educators who will positively impact schools, communities, and future generations. Reporting to the Chair of Early Childhood Education and working closely with the Assistant Director of the Graduate Program in Education, the Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative, operational, and student support that contributes to the successful delivery of the Early Childhood Education (ECE) and PK-3 Credential programs. This position collaborates closely with faculty, the Credential Analyst/Student Teacher Coordinator, and university partners to promote student success, maintain program excellence, and ensure efficient day-to-day operations. Through exceptional service, organization, and collaboration, the Program Coordinator helps foster a supportive learning environment that reflects the University's values of academic excellence, Christian faith, and servant leadership.
POSITION DUTIES - In collaboration with the ECE Chair, coordinate all accreditation activities and document submissions to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).
- Coordinate with the GPE Office and Assistant Director of Graduate Education the admission process into the PK3 credential program.
- Coordinate advising and tracking of ECE and PK3 students throughout the program.
- Coordinate with ECE Chair and Assistant Director effective credential orientations for new PK3 and ECE students each semester.
- Assist the ECE Chair in preparing and managing budgets for the ECE and PK3 programs.
- Advise the Chair and faculty regarding students’ needs for remediation and intervention.
- Work with the Chair and faculty in reviewing program changes and curriculum development.
- Provide general troubleshooting of all departmental systems and policies.
- Maintain ECE and PK3 websites and handbook.
- Coordinate course schedule revisions, catalog editing, adjunct hiring logistics, and providing professional development for program staff.
- Other duties as assigned including mandatory particaption in the Universities annual commencment ceremonies.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred, with program management experience, preferably in educational institutions.
- Knowledge of teacher certification and organization of school districts.
- Ability to learn and represent policies, procedures, and regulations of the Program as well as CTC regulations and the various accrediting bodies associated with the Program.
- Ability to coordinate with the staff team in excellent customer service and resolving student issues.
- Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to communicate effectively to the public, students, faculty, staff and administration in various formats.
- Efficient computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and use of databases
- Organizational and administrative skills; the ability to coordinate multiple tasks concurrently.
- Ability to initiate systems and process for effective program management, program marketing and advisement.
- Knowledge and acceptance of principles and philosophies of Vanguard University, its programs and requirements.
SALARY
This is a non-exempt, full-time, benefit-eligible position. Expected Pay Range: $28.00 - $29.50 per hour
Placement within the salary range is commensurate upon education and experience. Posted salary range reflects anticipated hiring scale for the position. Vanguard University also offers a very competitive and generous benefits package.
