Responsibilities Include:
Fostering a safe and engaging learning environment for young children, planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, and communicating with parents about their child's development. Teacher manages classroom activities, maintain a clean and organized space.
Curriculum and Instruction:
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the preschool curriculum.
Teach basic skills like colors, shapes, letters, and numbers (eg. NYS Standards)
Organize and lead activities that promote physical, mental, and social development.
Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet individual learning styles and needs.
Integrate play-based learning, storytelling, and creative arts into lessons.
Classroom Management:
Establish and enforce classroom rules and procedures.
Active Supervision
Create a positive and nurturing learning environment.
Manage classroom activities, including transitions, meals, and playtime.
Ensure the classroom is clean, safe, and organized.
Monitor children's behavior and address any issues that arise.
Child Development and Care:
Observe and assess children's progress and development.
Identify children who may need additional support and communicate with parents and supervisors.
Supervise children during free play, outdoor activities, and nap time.
Communication and Collaboration:
Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress and development.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to plan and implement curriculum.
Participate in parent-teacher conferences and other meetings.
Assist in providing opportunities for parental/guardian involvement within the school.
