Job Title: PL/SQL Developer

Location: REMOTE, Virginia

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain Oracle PL/SQL solutions, including functions, procedures, triggers, and packages using Oracle 11g or newer.
  • Participate in production implementations by partnering with the production support group to ensure correct transition of system changes into production environments.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automation and data-processing scripts, including database maintenance and monitoring solutions using PL/SQL, Perl, and shell.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide consultation to development teams.
  • Perform data analysis and debugging to identify data quality issues, support application troubleshooting, identify root causes, and implement permanent resolutions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including system diagrams and operational procedures.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve database and application performance issues in partnership with application, infrastructure, and support teams.
  • Ensure database environments follow best practices for reliability, scalability, and security.
Requirements
  • US Citizen with ability to obtain a public trust.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/management information systems or an associated discipline or FOUR (4) additional years of experience.
  • Minimum of SIX (6) years of job-related experience as an Oracle Database Developer.
  • Ability to create, modify, and tune SQL queries and PL/SQL code.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve data and system performance issues.
  • Knowledge with AWS cloud technologies like RDS, Lambda, EC2, Redshift is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • May require participation in a 24X7 on-call rotation or overnight deployment.
  • Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse; ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY preferred.
  • Strong expertise in Oracle performance tuning, including SQL and PL/SQL optimization.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including triggers, procedures, functions, and packages.
  • Proficiency in SQL Developer, SQL Loader, and related Oracle tools.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and listening skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, with strong planning and coordination capabilities.
  • High levels of self-motivation and adaptability, with the ability to meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Solid understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC), including Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to research and resolve complex technical problems in a distributed and complex IT environment, collaborating with both local and remote teams.
  • What would be nice to have: Oracle database performance tuning.
  • What would be nice to have: Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
  • What would be nice to have: Knowledge of AWS is a plus.
