Placement Specialist

Salary: $20.20. - $21.51

Position Overview: The Placement Specialist at The Arc Ontario helps people prepare for, secure, and succeed in competitive employment by providing individualized job development, skill‑building, and follow‑along support across ACCES‑VR, Supported Employment, and OPWDD Employment Training Programs. This role conducts intake assessments, teaches employment skills, assists with job searches and interviews, supports on‑the‑job training, and maintains ongoing communication with employers, counselors, and community partners. The Placement Specialist also promotes agency services through outreach, provides employers with information on hiring incentives and disability‑related regulations, and completes all required documentation in compliance with state and agency standards. Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake interviews and assessments; identify strengths, needs, and employment goals; and recommend appropriate services.
  • Teach and support skill development through individual or small-group instruction.
  • Assist people with job searches, resume development, interview preparation, and employer introductions; provide job leads and attend interviews as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least one (1) year of experience in rehabilitation, placement services, sales, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid NYS Driver's License required.
